Parks on the Air is a volunteer-run program that encourages ham radio operators to set up and operate portable stations from designated parks, forests, wildlife refuges, and other public lands. You activate a park by making at least 10 contacts while operating from that location. Hunters — those making contact with activators — log the exchange from home.
